The Christmas season is one of hope, peace, joy, and love.  There are parties to attend and lights to see.  We put up decorations and buy gifts.  Yet, for all of us, this time of year recalls within us loved ones who no longer celebrate Christmas as we do.  We remember loved ones whose earthly presence is but a memory.

As a time to give these memories their due place in our Christmas celebrations, East Maiden will host a Christmas Service of Remembrance on Sunday, December 12.  Worship will begin at 6:30 PM with singing & the spoken word.  A Tree of Remembrance will be placed in the sanctuary and, during the service, you & your family will be given the opportunity to remember your loved one(s) by hanging an ornament on the tree.  East Maiden will provide ornaments for those who wish to use them.  You may also use a personal ornament from your family’s collection if you wish.

If you would like to remember your loved one(s) this Christmas through this service, please contact our church office by Wednesday, December 8.
